First responders

What I can help with:

Work-related critical incidents

Complex Vicarious Trauma from years of work experiences

Guilt or undue responsibility for work incidents

Ruminations about work events

Impacts of work as a first responder on personal life

How I can help

I am certified in EMDR and have training in additional techniques to help relieve stress quickly, whether these events are recent or old. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based intervention to help remove the physiological and emotional impacts of adverse or traumatic experiences.

I am certified in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, which can help the body feel relaxed and release tension from work stress.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured form of talk therapy to help build skills to combat the impacts of trauma and work through the narrative of what happened.

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a form of exposure and desensitization that helps to remove PTSD responses such as hypervigilance and physiological responses in the body.

EMDR consists of 8 phases of treatment that address distress in the past, present, and future.

Cost

I accept most major insurance providers (Anthem, Aetna, Sentara, United Healthcare) and the cost of your sessions depends on the plan you have chosen. I’m happy to help you understand what to expect for cost so that you do not have to. Please reach out to me for sliding scale options as well.
